Prior Aelred attended the Benedictine Formation Workshop April 10 through April 14 at St. Bernard's Abbey in Cullman, Alabama. Former Abbot Primate Marcel Rooney, of Conception Abbey in Missouri, spoke on the topic of liturgy. Br. Abraham is scheduled to be one of the speakers at the Dallas Benedictine Experience held at the Catholic Conference and Formation Center of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas June 13 through June 17. The Dallas Benedictine Experience is co-sponsored by the Friends of St. Benedict, based in Washington, D. C., and the Benedictine Community of the Holy Savior, an ecumenical group in the greater Dallas area. On May 5, about 20 members of K.L.O.B. (a Kalamazoo area home brewers' club) gathered at St. Gregory's, setting up portable kitchens and brewing abbey style beer (a technical term for a certain type of beer). Sr. Linda Mary, Sr. Heather, and Sr. Marguerite Mae of the Community of the Sisters of the Church were with us April 22 through April 24. They were traveling from St. Michael's House in Burlington, Ontario to the Siena Center in Racine, Wisconsin for the annual leadership meeting of the Conference of Anglican Religious Orders in the Americas (CAROA). Abbot Andrew also attended the meeting. |
